Chapter 1.5: It is the time for home

The next day, Silvia leaves for work. It's been a while due to her maternity leave. She's anxious to get back to work and earn her long delayed promotion. On her way out she spots Irwin, only in his underwear, eating breakfast outside. She wants to yell at Irwin to at least put some pants on, but she's almost late for work, so decides against it. Also, they're still newlyweds. She doesn't want to sound like a nagging mother to him.

Time flies by quickly and Samantha becomes a toddler.

The little girl is adorable.

except when she whines and refuses to use the potty chair.

Silvia is usually busy with work. She's a bit frustrated how much her maternity leave is holding her back. Several of her coworkers who started working at the same time as she did have been promoted while she was gone. Silvia is often working extra hours in order to catch up with her peers.

As a result, Irwin is the one who spends more time with Samantha, teaching her to walk, use the potty.

Samantha is definitely a daddy's girl.

Silvia is tracking down a lead when she feels queasy. She blames it on the stress and constant work she's been doing.

She spots Dorian Blightwood being harassed by a old paparazzi.

She questions Dorian about his involvement with Quailhogs Inc and his relationship with Basil Jaughook. The latter question is not official business, but rather a personal agenda. She's gathered information and has suspicions that the Blightwoods are deeply connected with Basil Jaughook, but has yet to come with concrete evidence.

Dorian denies any involvement with Quailhogs Inc and Basil. Things turn sour quickly. Silvia is very sure that Dorian is lying. There is not way he is as innocent as he claims to be.

After hours of persistence, Dorian relents and agrees to be interviewed by Silvia. He doesn't talk about any of his involvements, but he supplies her with evidence against his arch-rival, Shaw Blightwood, another crime lord of Grey Meadows. Silvia is satisfied for now.

After submitting her negative review of Shaw Blightwood, Sillvia is granted the promotion she had been waiting for. On her way back home, Silvia feels nauseous again and decides to get a check up at the hospital. Her suspicions are confirmed when the doctor tells her that she is pregnant. Last time she was pregnant, Silvia insisted on working till the very last minute. However, now that she just earned her promotion, Silvia feels like this would be a good time to take some time off. Irwin and Silvia had been talking about having a second and probably last child soon. Silvia calls work and asks for another maternity leave.

She spends her maternity leave peacefully, devoting most of her time to Samantha.

She learns that Samantha is interested in sports and sparkly things. She also seems to take after Silvia in her interest in wild party dancing. Silvia isn't sure whether she should be happy or worried.

She started labor in the middle of the night. Irwin wasn't home that night, presumably rummaging through trash cans to find scrap. Silvia gives birth to a baby girl, Kayla, at home.

(Irwin senses a disturbance in the force)

The house undergoes minor expansion in order to accommodate the new addition to the household.

Samantha and Kayla share a birthday together. The double birthday party is a small family affair.

Kayla becomes a toddler. She has cute chubby cheeks and green eyes just like her daddy.

Samantha blows her candles.

She looks a lot more like her mother now that she's grown into a child. Both of the girls have Irwin's hair, but Samantha has Silvia's blue eyes.

Samantha is an amazing big sister. She spends a lot of time with Kayla. Samantha is mature for her age and quickly learns that both of her parents are busy with work. Irwin is usually home inventing, but when he is at his workbench, he's totally oblivious to anything else. Samantha takes it upon herself to look after her lil sis.

It's easy to love her little sister when she's such a frail creature. Samantha knows that she's different from the  other kids in school. First off, her pale skin and glowing bright eyes. She's also stronger and faster than most kids, even the boys. Compared to her, Kayla seems like a doll.

Her absolute favorite thing is playing peek-a-boo with her sister.

When she's not playing with her sister, Samantha is often in her room, on her ship, daydreaming of all the adventures she'd like to go on one day.

One day, she'll definitely sail away from Grey Meadows and go on her adventure. The adventure she's been dreaming of.

Chapter Notes:
mmm, not much story much. Just... babies growing up :)
It's really interesting how the kids look like their parents. Kayla is really a girl version of Irwin. She looks like her dad sooooo much. Her chubby cheeks and green eyes. It's funny how her traits are also similar to Irwin. She's a genius just like him

On the other hand, Samantha looks a lot like her mom. She's really turning into a pretty child. When she was a baby or a toddler, she looked a littttttle bit creepy due to her skin color. Now, maybe I've gotten used to it, but Samantha is really pretty!

She's also a great sis to Kayla. Samantha just adores her!!

  1. The girls are cool. Your family is really cute, and their house is very pretty. I can't wait for Kayla to be a toddler so we can find out more about her personality. =)

I don't think this is mentioned in the rules, and I should fix that, but many of us hate how ridiculous the maternity/wedding/etc leave became after the Generations expansion, and use MasterController or other mods to remove maternity leave altogether. It's completely up to you if you want to do that though. Some people prefer the challenge of playing with the maternity leave on. =)

    1. That's great to know! This time it wasn't too big of a deal because the role was just two kids, but I might end up doing that in future generations(...if and when I get to future generations that is...)
